Help with heating cost available

  Dare County Department of Social Services will be accepting applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program Nov. 1-12. Qualifying individuals will receive help with heating costs in the form of a one-time payment that will be issued in February 2011.

  Individuals may apply each Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m, during the application time period (with the exception of Nov. 11, Veteran’s Day) at the social services office located at 107 Exeter Street, Manteo. Additional application sites are available as follows: The Hatteras Island satellite office on Rt. 12, Frisco,Nov. 1-12, 8:20-10:30 a.m.; the Employment Security commission in Nags Head Nov. 2-9, 8:30-10 a.m.; and the Baum Center, Nov. 3-10, 8:30-10 a.m.
