Health screens set
BySenior Games registration ends March 11. The events begin April 4 and end April 16.
On April 5, 8:30 a.m. to noon, The Outer Banks Hospital will provide free health screens at the Baum Center in partnership with the Dare County Senior Games.
In addition to the screening for glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure levels, the health fair will also feature wellness information about programs and services available at the hospital. Participants can learn about new technology for breast biopsies, procedures for kidney stones, chemotherapy, cancer support and many other services available at the hospital.
Walk-ins are welcomed at the event, but advance registration is encouraged. Keep in mind that accurate blood tests require fasting from food and drink after midnight in preparation for the health screen.
To register, call 449-9184. Registrations will be taken until 4 p.m. on Monday, April 4. (Courtesy www.obxCommonGood.org)
