Fire prevention week event planned
ByNags Head Fire and Rescue will be holding its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Tuesday, October 11, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fire Station 16, located at 5314 S. Croatan Highway (Mile Post 14.5). This year’s theme is “Protect Your Family From Fire!”
The open house is a great opportunity to meet the personnel protecting the community and learn more about protecting yourself and your family from fire. Child car seat inspections, smoke detector installation training, and fire extinguisher demonstrations are just a few of the events scheduled for this evening. In addition, the Dare County Fire Officers Association Fire Safety Trailer will be teaching both young and old how to get out of a house in the event of a fire.
Face painting and “Pluggy,” the motorized fire hydrant from the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department, will be available for the children and pizza and refreshments will be served.
